CALL FOR PARTNERS IN ERASMUS+

FROM IGOR SIKORSKY KYIV POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE (UKRAINE)

The National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (https://kpi.ua/en) is seeking collaboration partners to work on a joint project proposal under the Erasmus+ call Virtual Exchanges in Higher Education and Youth (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/topic-details/erasmus-edu-2021-virt-exch-ndici).

This call will be open for proposal submission until February 22, 2022. The projects are expected to last for 36 months, and the maximum budget is €500K per project.

For this call, we would like to focus on setting up and conducting an international online startup school. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has been successfully running its “Sikorsky Challenge” Startup School since 2014, which has since expanded into an All-Ukrainian Startup School Network linking together 18 Ukrainian universities (https://www.sikorskychallenge.com/scu/startup-schools-sikorsky-challengelenge/).The school’s graduates take part in the “Sikorsky Challenge Festival of Innovation Projects”, an annual event which connects startup founders with potential investors.

As a project topic, the online startup school falls neatly under the scope of the Virtual Exchanges in Higher Education and Youth call, and it can hopefully contribute to fostering entrepreneurial skills and facilitating knowledge exchange between university students in Ukraine and other European countries.

As per the call requirements, the application needs to be submitted by a consortium of at least 4 HEIs or youth organizations: 2 from Erasmus+ programme countries, and 2 from the Eastern Neighborhood countries (including Ukraine). The coordinator has to be established in a programme country, which disqualifies Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute from this role.

Due to the above, we are currently seeking for a partner university that:

  • is willing to cooperate with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute under the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges call;
  • has experience in running startup schools, or aims to gain such experience;
  • is located in one of Erasmus+ programme countries (the list can be found at: https://www.erasmusplus.org.uk/participating-countries);
  • is willing to take on the role of consortium coordinator.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has a history of successfully participating in EU R&I framework programmes. For instance, we have participated in the NoGAP project funded under FP7 (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/609531), and in the UKRAINE project funded under Horizon 2020 (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/641517). Moreover, we have also taken part in multiple Erasmus+ projects, including a Jean Monnet module European business models: transformation, harmonization and implementation in Ukraine, which ran until August 2020.
